Snow Angel Set
8 oz Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath
8 ox Body Lotion
$26 CAN

What the website says:
“A heavenly two-piece bath and body set that includes a three-in-one shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath and a moisturizing body lotion infused with a crisp, clean scent.

What it does:
This set recaptures a sense of childhood joy with a pure scent that hints at the essence of a fresh snowfall. The luxurious, moisturizing formulas of both products leave skin feeling silky soft.”

What I Think:
I loved absolutely EVERYTHING about this set, the looks, the texture, the adorable packaging…everything except the smell. I don’t know what it was, but I really did NOT like that scent!! It’s such a shame too, as this is such a cute gift set!! The texture of the body lotion is very nice and the scent (if you like it) lasts a while. The 3-in-1 has a beautiful blue shimmer to it, and both of the bottles are decent in size with 8 oz of product in each. The “philosophy” is fun to read, and the box it comes in would be nice to keep for storing things.

I tested the product at Sephora, and I was a little wishy-washy on the scent there, but decided that it was nice and that I really wanted to buy the set (because it’s just so darn CUTE!! ^_^) Off I went, grabbing the box and paying for it quickly on a whim, and I left the store feeling giddy with my purchase.

When I started using it at home, I noticed that the scent wasn’t as nice as I remembered it to be. Maybe I convinced myself in the store that it smelled good because the overwhelming cuteness factor of the product packaging was getting to me? I am known for my love of winter, snow and the colour blue, and this package embodies all of that, with a bit of sparkle added to the side. Maybe it was because Sephora has so many other smells that my nose was assaulted and couldn’t judge things accurately? Maybe my nose was just somewhat stuffed (like it usually is, stupid allergies) and altered the scent?
Whatever it was, I made the wrong decision in buying this product. I tried to wear it several times, but then it got to the point that I just thought “no way” and returned the product to the store. I then purchased the Holiday Hostess set instead (which I will review later on). :)

Would I buy this again and any tips?
If I enjoyed the scent, I definitely would repurchase!! This is such a sweet gift set. Just make sure the person you are buying it for will enjoy the fragrance, as it would be a shame to make the same mistake that I did (although it’s the thought that really matters ;)!) This is also a limited edition product, so if you are planning on getting it, I would suggest picking it up fast!

I don’t have the packaging anymore.

What I Think:

I got this as a sample at Sephora, and I was looking forward to trying it out after checking out so many positive reviews online.

Boscia is a popular Japanese brand of skin care who are known being preservative free and not using a bunch of harsh chemicals and toxic ingredients in their products (unlike a lot of other brands). Sephora has a great explaination of the company and it’s practices on their web site.

First of all, this mask is seriously fun to put on. It is a shiny pitch black shade, with a very thick gooey/sticky/tar-like consistency. You are supposed to spread it around your skin in an even layer so you don’t see the skin underneath, and that way you ensure that the mask is on thick enough to make the removal part easier. You definitely avoid putting it anywhere near the eye area, as this mask really sticks to your skin like liquid latex.

You wait around 15 or so minutes for it to dry (which you can definitely feel it doing on your face while it’s on) then peel it off to reveal nicer skin. The mask looks funny when you remove it, and because of its colour you can see where it pulled off and out dry skin and impurities from your face.

Upon removal I would say that it does a great job of taking off dry skin, but only a ‘meh’ job of cleaning out pores. Some people liken this product to a giant Biore strip for the face, but I disagree.

I ended up giving the rest of the sample for my sister to try (while I used a real Biore strip :P) and she had the same opinion as me on it.

Would I purchase this?

No, the price is too steep and since I was looking for something that did more of the pore-cleaning, I would prefer to go with another product. There are also reviews about how there isn’t that much product in the tube and it doesn’t last very long since you have to apply it thickly. But I will admit that it has a great novelty factor, as wandering around with black blobs on one’s face gets some pretty funny stares. ^_^

If you are interested in purchasing this product, I will let you know that it is very popular, and tends to sell out at Sephora very quickly. I just checked the actual boscia website, and it is backordered even on there! Just an fyi.

All in all, it was fun, but unless it is another sample, I won’t use this product again.
